Zecca Handmade Italian, Griffith
Housed in the iconic Rural Bank building, Zecca Handmade Italian brings to the table traditional authentic Italian food – cucina regionale. The combination of three local families, with a passion for sharing their Italian heritage, has quickly become a local favourite. Whether hosting regional Italian nights, serving Pugliese favourites or Roman street food, the fare is fresh and simple, all made in-house and based on showcasing local, seasonal produce.
Inside the look is fresh with white washed walls, polished floor boards and a long central bar offering local wine, craft beer, coffee and classic Italian aperitivi.
The chalkboard menu is filled with Italian staples, changing regularly to reflect the season’s bounty. Pasta is prepared fresh daily and includes an al dente line up of maltagliati, casarecce and pappardelle. Plates of house-made antipasti are resplendent with olives, baccala – from local Murray cod, Zecca’s giardiniera and salumi. The piadina and salads are bold and fresh, and the secondi board delights with porchetta and grilled local lamb leg.
To finish you must leave room for dolci including gelati of local ingredients like strawberry and almond, alongside crostata, cannoli and bomboloni.
