The Arts Centre Cootamundra
The Arts Centre Cootamundra is a not-for-profit multi-purpose arts facility, which operates on the premise ‘for the community by the community’. With over twenty-five thousand hours of volunteer labour to date, the Centre is the culmination of the desire and passion of a small, dedicated group determined to bring the arts to a regional centre.
Housed in a 1900s farm machinery dealership, resplendent with original carriageway arches, The Arts Centre Cootamundra provides an outlet for all people in the community. Cultural development and artistic endeavours catered for include painting, dance and musical performance, as well as live theatre, sculpture, ceramics and visual arts. Films are screened in the modern, fully equipped Tin Shed Theatre.
The Centre supports and showcases the abundance of local talent – such as the recent Fibres, Steel and Stone exhibition and makes accessible works of local, national and international significance. Touring artists also complement the annual schedule and the Centre is a venue for a diversity of community groups, seminars and professional development days.
Spring will see the Centre host, as part of Taste Riverina Festival, ‘Brunch in the Art Precinct’ on 3rd October and the gastronomic ‘A Shared Table Dinner’ on 8th October. See website for further details.
