Sheridan Bouteaque, Gundagai
The Sheridan Bouteaque is the new kid on the block on Gundagai’s main street since it opened in March this year. In a short few months, the tea house and cafe has become a firm favourite with locals and the many visitors who stop in the famous rural town.
Owner Peggy Elliott realised her long-held dream of running her own cafe. She is dedicated to offering fresh and seasonal food that is cooked and baked on-site each day. From staples such as pies, lasagna, quiches, and soups, to a full complement of Australian cakes and bakery treats, to gourmet delights including risotto and sushi; diners experience something for almost every palate!
The Bouteaque has also become loved for its signature, traditional high teas and newly introduced dinner menu, with both services available through group bookings. The specialty, loose-leaf and bagged teas are flying off the shelves and customers have taken to the range of locally produced dressings, relish, and jams.
