Roundhouse Restaurant, Junee
As part of family owned The Crossing Motel, the Roundhouse Restaurant in Junee offers an unpretentious dining experience. Owners Michael and Natalie Phillips are local food advocates and source fresh regional produce with a paddock to plate theme, catering for everyone from families to the corporate traveller.
The seasonal menu highlights regional produce at its best. Junee has some of the finest quality lamb in Australia, and this spring Michael is serving Junee Gold lamb backstrap with a Harefield pistachio crust. Other regional delights include baked Tumut trout fillet, Dutton Park Duck and Portobello mushroom pithivier. Desserts are light and fluffy, overflowing with fresh spring fruit flavours. The Poached Burcher egg meringue is a favourite.
The Roundhouse Restaurant is able to cater for larger groups, with the recent opening of their conference facility, The Platform Room.
This October, as part of Taste Riverina Festival, the Roundhouse Restaurant will hold their annual ‘Tastes of Riverina’ degustation dinners on 14th and 28th October. Driven by Riverina produce at its very best, each dish is created with the next in mind, providing the perfect gastronomic and sensory journey through a balanced tasting menu.
