Riverina Grove, Griffith
Louis Marangon can’t remember a time he wasn’t immersed in the manufacturing of quality Italian foods. He watched as his parents Aurelio and Bianca Marangon – who immigrated to Griffith from Italy in 1950 – process the olives from their farm and sold them to local markets as the Koala Brand.
Armed with a degree in Food Technology, experience working at multinational food manufacturers, and passion for quality gourmet food, Louis took over the reins when his father retired in 1984. In 1999, he rebranded the company as Riverina Grove (keeping Koala Brand as a range) and set his sights on expanding the range and distribution.
Today, the business has five different labels with more than 25 products, all of them free of preservatives, gluten, artificial colours and flavours. The range includes Riverina Grove, Aurelio, Koala, Gusto and Bum Hummers. Riverina Grove hampers are much loved for their different combinations of delicious olives, tapenades, salsas, relishes, pasta sauces, conserves and much more, often paired with local bottles of wine. All Riverina Grove products are made in Griffith and 85% of the ingredients are sourced from the area.
Visitors are encouraged to sample the delicious products at Riverina Grove in Whybrow Street, Griffith. Pop in, enjoy a coffee or chat to Louis and his staff.
