Reinholds Butchery, Temora

Michael Reinhold learned his trade in the butchery business as a youngster, watching his father and uncle run the business, joining them as soon as he left school. He took over the business 15 years ago but happily welcomes his retired 77-year-old father who stops in daily for a coffee and to ‘keep an eye’ on operations.

Most of Reinhold’s meats come from Cootamundra and Cowra. The butchery also offers a range of other ingredients and condiments to accompany the numerous cuts and combinations of beef, chicken, pork, sausages and hams, which continue to be hot sellers, especially at Christmas.
The staff say the best aspect of the job is interacting with customers, some who have bought their meats there for more than 40 years.
Over the decades, Michael has observed the biggest change being the ever-growing demand for value-added products and ready-to-cook items, and the impact of social media on advertising. Reinhold’s Facebook page is a popular place for customers to catch the latest specials and news about the butchery.
Like many butchers in their rural and metro communities, Michael and his staff are dedicated to giving back by sponsoring sports teams and community-based events.
