Buronga Organics, Cootamundra

Buronga is located off the Olympic Highway about 10 minutes outside of Cootamundra, servicing clients under the “Buronga Organics” brand available in select outlets in the Sydney, Canberra and Riverina regions. Farm tours are available by prior appointment.

Mary and David Booth are helped by their children in their mission to produce quality organic foods and farm in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner that meets the needs of today without sacrificing the quality of land for future generations. One third of the 1,600 hectare farm is dedicated to private native vegetation to enhance biodiversity.

The Booths ensure their cattle, sheep and goats have good quality feed, low stress levels and remain disease free by providing healthy pastures, plenty of space to graze, and rotational grazing methods. In addition to its quality organic meats, the farm produces wheat and spelt. Spelt, one of the oldest cultivated grains known to man, has made a recent resurgence due to its health benefits and unique flavour with plans to market whole grain after harvest.
